Calendar Invite to Round One

Round One of ICL will take place between May 22, 2023, and June 16, 2023. You will have the opportunity to choose your preferred day or days within these 4 weeks where you will participate in your qualifier labs. We will send you a calendar invite accordingly.

Round One

During the 4 weeks of Round One, you will be expected to complete your Round One labs and you only have one hour to complete each lab. The labs run on one computer. You may complete your labs as an individual, or you can solve them together with your teammates by teaming up in the same room or by sharing your screen using your preferred screen share application. If your team runs the same labs several times, the first time will count for your team score. You will be scored based on performance, and quiz responses. The average score of the four labs will be your total team score for Round One.

Calendar Invite to Round Two

Follow the ICL leaderboard. If you are one of the top-16 teams to make it to Round Two, you will receive an invitation where you will be asked to book your time slot for the semi-finals. Round Two will consist of a four-hour live-fire team exercise.

Round Two

In the semi-finals round, your team will participate in one live-fire team exercise of four hours. Exercises will run between June 20, 2023, and July 7, 2023, and you will have the opportunity to schedule your exercise at a convenient time during this week. This is a team exercise where your team will face off against a simulated cyber-attack scenario, immersed in a virtual security operations center (SOC). You will use commercial security tools to respond to the simulated attack. Teams will be scored based on their investigation goals, eradication goals, and time to response.

Calendar Invite to Round Three

Follow the ICL leaderboard. If you are one of the top-4 teams to make it to Round Two, you deserve a big congratulations! You got this far, let’s see how you do in Round Three! The top-4 team members will receive an invitation to Round Three where they will be asked to book their finals time slot.

Round Three

In semi-finals round, your team will participate once again in a live-fire team exercise lasting four hours, but this one is entirely new and even more challenging. Exercises will run between July 10, 2023, and July 14, 2023, and you will have the opportunity to schedule your exercise at a convenient time during this week. As in Round Two, teams will be scored based on their investigation goals, eradication goals, and time to response. The winning team will be crowned the “Best Cyber Defense Team in North and Latin America” and the top teams walk away with truly premium prizes. Good luck to all!
