Opening ceremony

Calendar Invite to Round One

Round One of ICL will take place between March 27, 2023, and April 14, 2023. You will be assigned 3 days within these 2 weeks for you to complete your qualifying labs. There will be a total of 4 labs and they must be completed within the 5 days assigned to you.

Round One

During Round One, you will have access to the labs for 3 days that we will assign to you in advance. During this time, you will be expected to complete your round-one labs. Your team has a total of 3 labs to complete and you only need 1 hour to complete each one. The lab runs on one computer. You may complete your lab as an individual, or you can solve it together with your teammates by teaming up in the same room or by sharing your screen using your preferred screen share application. If your team runs the same lab several times, the first time will count for your team score. You will be scored based on performance, and quiz responses. The average score of the 3 labs will be your total team score for Round One.

Calendar Invite to Round Two

Follow the ICL leaderboard. If you are one of the top-20 teams to make it to Round Two, you will receive an invitation where you will be asked to book your time slot for the Finals. The Finals Round will consist of a four-hour live-fire team exercise.

Round Two

In the Finals Round, your team will participate in one live-fire team exercise of four hours. Exercises will run between April 19, 2023 and May 2, 2023, and you will have the opportunity to schedule your exercise at a convenient time during this week. This is a team exercise. Your team will face off against a simulated cyber-attack scenario, immersed in a virtual security operations center (SOC). You will use commercial security tools to respond to the simulated attack. Teams will be scored based on their investigation goals, eradication goals, and time to response.
